RALEIGH, N.C. — A vehicle struck three women and damaged a restaurant in the Cameron Village shopping center in Raleigh Sunday afternoon, police said.
Police said Betty Jo Boykin Sledge, 55, of Raleigh, was pulling into a parking space outside the Noodles and Company restaurant in the shopping center when she accelerated, drove over the curb and into the outdoor seating area shortly before 2 p.m.
Going around 10 mph, Sledge's 2003 Lexus sedan struck three women sitting together at an outdoor table, then bounced off the restaurant front and came to a stop, according to the wreck report.
