On The Rachel Maddow Show tonight, Richard Engel reported that India's escalation of rhetoric towards Pakistan, combined with the Mumbai attacks, might result in Pakistan moving their troops away from the Afghanistan border over to the India border. There is historical precedent - Pakistan did exactly this the last time Mumbai was attacked in 2001, when India blamed Pakistan for those attacks. This would leave our supply lines for the troops in Afghanistan vulnerable to attack. So the follow-up question that I would like someone to look into is - is that part of the point of the Mumbai attacks? To increase tensions between Pakistan and India so that Pakistan moves their troops? Could there be coordination between the terrorist group in Kashmir and the Taliban and/or al Queda?
I sent the above questions to the Rachel Maddow Show earlier this evening. My question to readers is, what do you think? Am I off my rocker, so to speak? Or am I justified in being paranoid?
